I bought this set for my 13 yr. old daughter for Christmas. She couldn't stop reading! She read all 3 books on Christmas break! Her only comment was that it's not like the movie but still good.(thus the 4 stars instead of 5)

I bought this 3 book pakage in spring and it was like I was living the summer already. Each book is a new journey of the four friends and it makes me return to those teenage years I loved so much. Actually, I'm 20 years old but reading these books makes me think that I'm back with my firends in High School.
I bought the first sisterhood of the traveling pants for my daughter when she was a young teen. Even now that she is 16 she still loves reading them. I was sure that even though she is older she could care less about them. But she insisted that I get the fourth book so she could see what was happening to the girls in the book... lol.. She LOVED it.
What a great young adult series. Even though I wasn't really a young adult when I began reading these they sucked me in and I could barely put them down until I had finished. Tells a universal story of friendship, love, lost and everything in between!
All 4 of these books are thrilling, exciting, and fun. All 4 girls a different and easy to relate to. The obstacles they face are one's that any girl may. From sporty Bridget, punky Tibby, artistic Lena and emotional Carmen, all 4 girls are real. These books are perfect for woman of all ages. I absolutely loved them and couldnt put them down. A real page turner and 4 fantastic finds.
I am 31 years old and a mother of three. I love to read and while my favorite genre is historical fiction, I occasionally like to read a YA novel for some "light reading" and an escape from reality. It is a very easy read and I really enjoyed escaping to the worlds these girls live in. No, it is not realistic, but isn't that why we sometimes read fiction? And, contrary to what some reviewers have written, it is very possible for four girls with different personalities to be best friends. I lived that exact situation in high school with my friends. We were so different, and yet those girls are the few that I keep in touch with to this day.

I really enjoyed the first three books and am awaiting the arrival of the fourth. That said, I have a daughter and will not allow her to read this book until she is mature enough to deal with the situations in the book. Probably not until after high school. And even then I would discuss with her the repercussions that come from some of the decisions made in the book.

Nevertheless, this book brings to light the fact that every person has a story. A reason for why they are the way they are. The sequels present this even more.

I very much enjoyed this book.
these books including the fourth are great books they are awesome coming of age stories that delve into the live of 4 girls that are so very different from one another but are brought together by life and stay together by friendship. i will admit that the frist time i heard of these books i was not convinced that they would be very good but they are oh so much more then they seem. for any girl that has ever been unsure of herself she will find someone in this book that she can relate to. even adults can relate. i got the frist one when i was 15 and my mother and my aunt read it also and now at the age of 20 i still read the fourth i couldn't resist, now its time to pass them along to my niece. but all in all great reads and the perfect gift for girls who are 12 and up*******
I did't receive the boxed set! what I got is the two first volumes in paper cover and the third in hard cover!
